This is how we meet

2009 /2011

Badges, offset printed, two editions of 250.

The badge as mass-produced ephemeral object is used to literally designate the situation we meet in. As part of the work cycle Meetings, the typography was designed such that the other is required to come quite close to the one who wears the badge in order to be able to read it. This moment – the moment of understanding the text – and the physical presence of two people facing each other, is the moment of meeting. The physical distance of the two people meeting equals an arm’s length for a handshake and thus subtitles a face-to-face encounter.
